There has been much success from this blog, in the short amount of time I've had it. However, The Wizard of Oz was not the only inspiration for "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Journey of a Catholic Poster Girl, a blog that you can link to from mine, did and still does inspire me. I am a catholic, myself, and are always looking for ways to spread the word of God. What better way to do so then start a blog?
I encourage everyone to please visit the blog, Journey of a Catholic Poster Girl, it inspired me and I guarantee it will inspire you, too!

Wow!
What my blog has become in just six months is more then I could've ever imagined. What started out to be a simple journal has turned into a place for poems, a home for humor, and a blog we can all call, Somewhere Over the Rainbow!
I also changed the template since I'm going with this "brand new" theme. I really do believe in my heart that this blog has come a long way, it not being up for a year yet, and still having so many posts and so many surprises on the sidebar.
My original purpose of this blog was to use the Wizard of Oz along with some of it's morals, and build from there, and I have; but I've also realized that even though books will start and end, it doesn't mean after you've finished them you should forget them. Creating this blog helped me to not forget The Wizard of Oz, even if I not actually going to read the story or watch the movie anytime soon.
So, as a writer and a reader I challenge you to never forget the books you read, even if you don't remember all the details.

I am Happy
This peom is dedicated to my dad,
Happy Father's Day, Dad!
Today I am happy as I sit here tonight,
Being blessed by God and all his might.
We sit here together enjoying a meal,
Each of us knowing this gift must be real.
Six people, six chairs,
All sitting together.
Not forgetting of course,
The seventh, our savior.
The life, the love, the laughs,
It's all a big blur,
But, God remembers it all,
That part is for sure.
As we drive home,
I feel like a dove.
Flying away,
Feeling the love.
We pull in the driveway,
And we're welcomed again.
The love is everlasting,
I believe. Amen.

Do Tom and Jerry Play Baseball?
Have you ever wondered; do Tom and Jerry play baseball? The answer is yes. You see, when Tom and Jerry aren't starring in the famous television sensation "Tom and Jerry", which causes them to act as though they extremely dislike each other, they are really good friends. However, because of their tight schedules they seem to never have time to just have fun. Because of this dilemma the best buds decided to take the summer months off. This enabled them to play a sport that they both love, together; baseball.
Before when the dynamic duo would play baseball together it would never be an organized sport, however this year is different. After a wonderful season of "Tom and Jerry" Tom and Jerry were ready to do something spectacular, after all, Jerry was turning the big 1-0! Hooray! The decision was made! But wait a minute, how can two unexperienced unorganized cartoons run a baseball league all on their own? Why not call up some of their old co-workers?
And together they formed The Terrific Team of Tunes, starting with Tom, president; Jerry, commissioner; Coyote, uniform; Road Runner, head equipment; Tweety, head umpire; and ending with Taz, assistant equipment. O and in case your wondering, Taz promised before the first game not to eat the equipment!
So the next time you are playing baseball, or perhaps just a game of catch remember these things: be safe, have fun, and never forget The Terrific Team of Tunes. They may be playing right now away from the rest of the world, in my and your, imagination!
