Part of the inspiration for the name of my blog comes from the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from the movie the Wizard of Oz. I very much enjoy that movie and wanted to share my joy with you! If you have seen this film you understand the magical feeling that Dorothy (main character) is filled with when entering the wonderful world of Oz. Although, from the beginning she wants to travel somewhere over the rainbow she soon realizes that the grass isn't always greener on the other side and she wants deeply to go back to Kansas where she began, and with a little help from Glinda, the good which of the north, Dorothy is brought home safely. Perhaps you feel like Dorothy, wanting so much to grow wings and travel over the rainbow; but don't forget, no matter where you are, you can always find adventure.
Below are the lyrics to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Feel free to take a look.
When all the world is a hopeless jumble
And the raindrops tumble all around
Heaven opens a magic lane
When all the clouds darken up the skyway
There's a rainbow highway to be found
Leading from your window pane
To a place behind the sun
Just a step beyond the rain
Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow
Why oh why can't I?

Choices
Reading a good book is better than...
staying on the computer for hours and hours...
playing video games until your fingers are numb...
watching a movie instead of using your own imagination...
Where would you rather spend your time - a bookstore, or the mall?
At a party or at a library?
Leaving the job for someone else to do, or volunteering?
W.W.J.D.? WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
staying on the computer for hours and hours...
playing video games until your fingers are numb...
watching a movie instead of using your own imagination...
Where would you rather spend your time - a bookstore, or the mall?
At a party or at a library?
Leaving the job for someone else to do, or volunteering?
W.W.J.D.? WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?

Color is Everywhere
It's on the place-mat,
on the rug,
In the cabinet,
on the mug.
In the bedroom,
on the wall,
In the picture,
in the hall.
It's on the curtain,
on the chairs,
on your face,
in your hair.
Out the door,
the sky the sun,
within the grass,
on which you run.
It's up so high,
that you can't reach,
it's down so low,
beneath your feet.
It's spooky,
and will make you scream,
It's tasty,
like a bowl of ice cream.
It stands for symbols,
on flags and signs,
it's inside glitter,
to help it shine.
It's microscopic,
in tiny cells,
It's so gigantic,
on churchs' bells.
It is color,
that is true,
and Gods made it,
especially for me and you!
on the rug,
In the cabinet,
on the mug.
In the bedroom,
on the wall,
In the picture,
in the hall.
It's on the curtain,
on the chairs,
on your face,
in your hair.
Out the door,
the sky the sun,
within the grass,
on which you run.
It's up so high,
that you can't reach,
it's down so low,
beneath your feet.
It's spooky,

It's tasty,

to help it shine.
It's microscopic,
in tiny cells,
It's so gigantic,
on churchs' bells.

that is true,
and Gods made it,
especially for me and you!

Don't Read This!!!
As you probably have figured out by now, I am in love with books! But A series of Unfortunate Events is quite different from any other books I've read. One reason being that repeated many times in all 13 books the author (Lemony Snicket) constantly insists on the reader to stop reading. I have never done so myself, for I have always wanted to know what happens to the very unfortunate orphans this series of books are focused on. If you have read, or perhaps, began reading this very unfortunate tale, you understand what these innocent orphans have to go through; being passed from guardian to guardian-not to mention Count Olaf following them wherever they travel trying very hard to get a hold of the enormous fortune left behind by the children's parents- only to find themselves deserted on an island left with many questions and very few answers. All this to say if you truly desire to take a visit to the website based on the books you are welcome to click the link below:

Puzzle
I’m not gonna’ stop ‘Till I reach the top.
Hard work pays off In the long run, So I’m gonna’ work I ton. Seeing no Light at the end Of the tunnel, but belieVing it’s there. Making my drEams come true, it’s something I was born to do. And once I make it there, it's then when I begin to share.
My talent.
Decode the secret message, what does it spell out?

Enjoying Today
Sometimes you have those days when you can't wait until the next day and hope that the current day will go fast, but then something great happens and you realize instead of thinking about the next day, you should have been enjoying today!
Somewhere Over the Rainbow Lies...
Somewhere over the rainbow lies...
a winter wonderland...
a pot of gold waiting for you...
an uncharted island...
a dream that only you can dream...

Winning Isn't Everything
Winning isn't everything.
The real champions are the ones
who have fun just playing the game!
The real champions are the ones
who have fun just playing the game!
God is Good
God is good.
God is great.
Let us thank him for our food.
By his hand we all are fed.
Thank you God for daily bread.
God is great.
Let us thank him for our food.
By his hand we all are fed.
Thank you God for daily bread.
Rainbows Are a Gift From God
Rainbows are a gift from God.
We just look up and know he's there watching over us.
He loves us dearly, that's for sure, and he just wants to remind us;
We just look up and know he's there watching over us.
He loves us dearly, that's for sure, and he just wants to remind us;
that he will help us reach our dreams, all we have to do is ask.

Welcome!
Welcome!
Why did I name this blog Somewhere Over the Rainbow?
Well, imagination is my middle name! And the phrase Somewhere Over the Rainbow is kind of like a story starter, you can really go in any direction that you want to with it! I wanted people to look at my blog and have a picture in their mind of somewhere over the rainbow - where ever that may be!
